PANDEMIC FLU PLANNING
The state education department has released the URLs that provide information about pandemic resources in the event of an avian flu pandemic. The information can be accessed through: www.ped.state.nm.us
A training for educators and staff will be held in July sponsored by the New Mexico Coalition of School Administrators. The state health department, in a press release circulated in early May, stated that the agency will be involved in the following: the identification and testing of "...potentially affected birds, creating a triage line for people concerned about the bird flu, working with other government partners to assure highways, phone service, utilities and other supports are maintained and working with the federal government to assure the release of needed medical supplies."
